Tiger & Woods

Through the Green

BY Andrea AyottePublished Nov 17, 2016

The rising and mysterious Tiger & Woods have managed to hide their profiles from the public for now, but with their latest killer release, Through the Green, it's doubtful their identities will remain private much longer. Tiger & Woods create looping disco funk party tracks by extracting cleverly chosen samples from forgotten disco classics and reediting them into new, extended, infectious dance floor grooves. The album starts off with "Dr. Burner," a slow building, vocal disco track with smashing, percussive beats that peak and overlap into an incredible funky stomper. British' 80s band Imagination get their "Music & Lights" reworked into "Gin Nation," an exceptionally smart rendition highlighting all the finest escalating moments from the original, looping them into a calculated, contagious whirl. Noted for calling their music "future boogie," Tiger & Woods enhance all their favourite disco, funk and soul songs into new, outstanding forms that will hook almost any listener. Highly recommended and a guaranteed win for 2011.
