We knew that Tim Armstrong had new Rancid and Transplants albums on the go, but while we wait for those planned LPs, the punk songwriter has released an album of his own.
This 14-song collection isn't actually a stand-alone release, but rather an accompaniment to his RockNRoll Theater web series. For $5, you'll get a high-definition download of the first episode "Dante," plus a soundtrack featuring tunes from various future episodes of the series.
Armstrong wrote on the RockNRoll Theater website, "We're releasing our first episode of RockNRoll Theater, titled 'Dante,' in its entirety, plus a record with me singing songs from different RockNRoll Theater episodes that we're working on. RocknRoll Theater is 100% DIY, so if you guys actually buy it for $5, instead of file sharing, I would be stoked. Thank you for your support."
