Jeffrey Addison and Gavin Rough are a "live" electronic disco duo based out of Toronto, ON. Sounding like something that might come out of Morgan Geist's record crate, TMDP have created a beautifully nuanced and emotive album that's a pleasure to listen to from beginning to end. These instrumental tracks are timeless and spacey but have a definite '70s disco influence, driven by luscious melody and bare bones, body shaking rhythms. Obvious in the mix of synthesizers and acoustic kicks and snares are electric guitars and live bass, which give the sound a substantial manifestation. The live nature of TMDP also creates dynamics that would be hard to capture with electronic instruments alone. I'm hopeful that, being recognized as one of Toronto's hardest working electronic acts, their live show won't disappoint and it'll capture the epic intimacy of this awesome record.
