Toronto is getting an early dose of in-person live music this spring with a drive-in show from Canadian indie heroes Tokyo Police Club and Born Ruffians.

Earlier today, the bands announced their plans to perform at Toronto's new waterfront venue, CityView Drive-In, on May 28. Tickets for the COVID-safe event will go on sale this Friday (March 26) at 10 a.m. ET here

"TOKYO POLICE CLUB ARE RETURNING TO THE FREAKIN STAGE!!!" TPC wrote in a tweet. "Along with our friends and stalwart allies [Born Ruffians], we are DOING THE THING at CityView Drive-In on May 28th."

Born Ruffians added: "Fuck it let's play a show, Toronto."

Both bands are hot off recent releases, with TPC's 10th anniversary reissue of their 2010 record Champ, and Born Ruffians' 2020 albums JUICE and SQUEEZE, as well as their forthcoming new album PULP, which is due for release on April 16 via the band's own label, Wavy Haze, in Canada and Yep Roc elsewhere.
