Tom Waits

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction with Neil Young

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 25, 2011

On March 14, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted eclectic songwriter, actor, author and all-around weirdo Tom Waits into its ranks. The ceremony was aired on Fuse on March 20, and it has now made its way onto YouTube.

The 13-minute clip begins with an introduction by Canuck hero (and Hall of Fame member) Neil Young. Once Waits arrives on stage, he gives a speech that's every bit as touching, funny and bizarre as you'd expect from him. This is intercut with brilliantly spastic performances of "Make It Rain" and "Rain Dogs."

If you keep scrolling down, you can watch a bootleg video that shows Waits performing "Get Behind the Mule" with Young on guitar.
