Tool Are Auctioning Off a Signed Kitchen Sink for Charity

"Soon the water will come"

From septum rings to stained cardigans, item lots at music memorabilia auctions can at times feel like they include everything but the kitchen sink — and Tool will literally auction one off next month in support of Ronnie James Dio's cancer charity.

All four Tool members have lovingly signed the double bowl stainless steel sink seen above. While the lack of included parts is surefire "Flood" protection, a local hardware store could probably sort you out if you tell them, "I know the pieces fit."

The sink will be included in the upcoming Icons & Idols: Trilogy Rock 'n' Roll Auction from Julien's Auctions, set to run December 1 and 2 in Beverley Hills and online. A selection of items, including the signed steel, will benefit Dio's Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund and its mission of cancer prevention, research and education.

A press release cites Tool manager Warren Christensen explaining that the band are "generally reluctant" to sign items for charity auctions, though "when presented with 'the kitchen sink' and a good cause, they couldn't resist."

Three-quarters of Tool recently shared new music to launch a signature instrument form guitarist Adam Jones, while vocalist Maynard James Keenan released new album Existential Reckoning with Puscifer last month.
