BBQ Pope cut their teeth in Toronto's DIY scene, and after a five-year pause on releasing music, the three-piece have detailed their second album.
Unfurl drops October 24, and was recorded last summer at Wychwood Sound. Today, the garage punks have unveiled its lead single, "Pop Punk Song from 1994."
"When we resumed playing shows in 2024 it was really important to us to play new material to avoid being overly nostalgic, and this song really set the tone for a more mature songwriting process," bassist and vocalist Reid Millar tells Exclaim! "I think it's easy when you've been in a band since grade eleven like we have to just imitate your teenage selves over and over again and I'm glad we've tried to grow up a little with this batch of tunes."
"Pop Punk Song from 1994" arrives alongside a music video directed by BBQ Pope's Sean Hackl. Watch it below.
