Neo-soul songwriter Mileena has just released her first full-length effort. The eponymous album arrives today via Venus Fly Records.
Written in the summer months of 2021, Mileena was made in a warm bachelor pad of an apartment. The album is vast in influence, making nods to R&B, bossa nova and pop.
"So many things have changed in the process of putting this project out," Mileena tells Exclaim! "I don't feel like the same person I was when I started it. I'm really excited to drop more, but making things good takes a long time."
Mileena follows the singer's 2021 Venus EP and last year's "Fairy Tales" with Elaquent. To celebrate the album's release, Mileena will host a release show at the Drake Underground on March 11.
