A rough, sub-titled trailer for the long-awaited, Anton Corbijn-directed biopic on the life of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis has surfaced online.
Starring newcomer and fomer singer of Brit rock band 10,000 Things Sam Riley (who oddly enough, portrayed Mark E. Smith of the Fall in 24 Hour Party People) and Samantha Morton (In America, Minority Report), Control is based on Touching From a Distance, the memoirs of Deborah Curtis, the late wife of Ian, and details the troubled life of the inimitable post-punk icon. The film recently premiered at Cannes, where it received strong reviews from critics.
According to IMDb.com, the film is scheduled for release in France (?) on September 26 and the Netherlands (??) on October 4. No North American or even UK date has been announced as of yet.
