Transplants Detail 'In a Warzone,' Map Out North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 9, 2013

Slowly but surely, rap-punk hybridists Transplants have been dropping hints about their impending In a Warzone LP, but the big reveal was made today (April 9) with a confirmation that the album arrives June 25 via Epitaph.

Vocalist Rob Aston noted in a press release that the upcoming 12-song set is "more raw" than their previous LPs, an admission that lines up fittingly with the band's first teaser track, the all-out hardcore assault "In a Warzone." You can stream or download the title track via the widget beneath the tracklisting.

"When we started this band 13 years ago, we weren't worried about who was going to like us. We still aren't." Aston said. "In a Warzone is more raw and stripped down than our previous releases. In my opinion, it's our best album. It's always been difficult to classify Transplants. But at the end of the day, we're a punk rock band. We make whatever type of music we want."

As previously reported, In a Warzone is the third LP by the Transplants, and their first since 2005's Haunted Cities. To celebrate the release, the band will head out on tour with guitarist/vocalist Tim Armstrong's main band Rancid for some North American concert dates. These include Canadian stops at Toronto's Echo Beach on June 12 and a few days later at the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, QC.

UPDATE: Rancid and Transplants will both be playing Vancouver on July 13 and 14.
