Trap Them Return with Darker Handcraft

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 6, 2011

Way back in 2009, Seattle, WA doom-beat sludge punkers Trap Them announced they were leaving hardcore label Deathwish Inc. for larger metal company Prosthetic, but little had been revealed about their debut for the imprint since then. The wait for the proper follow-up to 2008's Seizures in Barren Praise is finally over, with the announcement of new disc Darker Handcraft.

Primed to continue the band's brutal blending of Swedish D-beat, crust and early hardcore, the outfit's latest was recorded at Godcity Studio with esteemed metal engineer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Ken Mode, Black Breath). Prosthetic will issue the album on vinyl March 1, while CD and digital versions will be available March 15. Both CDs and LPs are currently available as pre-orders on the label's website. A note for collectors: the records will feature a gatefold cover and will feature limited pressings on black, red, gray and white vinyl.

If you have a hankering to hear an outright banger off of Trap Them's latest, you can download swamp-stompin' single "The Facts" over here. A full tracklisting has yet to appear for Darker Handcraft.

The band will be heading off to Europe to promote the album after a short series of U.S. dates. You can check out the tour stops below.
