Last night (January 26), Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor closed out the Grammys with a collaborative performance with Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham. They got cut off due to time constraints, however, and Reznor took to Twitter to voice his frustration.
Soon after the show, the singer tweeted, "Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt FUCK YOU guys."
All in all, it was a night that left something to be desired for Reznor; not only did his performance get cut short when the producers cut to credits, Nine Inch Nails lost Best Alternative Music Album to Vampire Weekend.
Maybe Reznor will fare better at future Grammy ceremonies; after all, he's working on another soundtrack with Atticus Ross, and their scores have a tendency to win lots of awards.
UPDATE: Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the Grammys' executive producer Keith Ehrlich responded to Reznor, offering the following apology: "I'm sorry he was upset. I was really thrilled that we were finally getting him on the Grammys. The final jam started with Arcade Fire a few years ago, and LL Cool J last year. I want[ed] to end on a high, an up note. I did tell them we'd take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get."
