"Mercy"

Brooklyn rock-pop favourites TV on the Radio have unveiled the first piece of music from their anticipated upcoming single on band member's David Sitek's Federal Prism label, and it's a charged-up anthem called "Mercy."

The track, the first material released since the group's 2011 LP Nine Types of Light, is a busy beat-driven number full of rock salt-sharp guitar chords and shimmering retro synths. Vocalist Tunde Adebimpe, meanwhile, contributes a soulful set of lyrics that have him taking a leap of faith from atop a church steeple.

"Couldn't be more excited to be getting back into it, all together," the band's Kyp Malone told Huffington Post. "The new songs 'Mercy' and 'Million Miles' came to fruition with such ease that it felt like an invitation to get back to this good work."

A due date has yet been delivered for the single, but you can stream "Mercy" down below.
