Coming together from opposite corners of the world (Portland, OR, and Auckland, New Zealand), Unknown Mortal Orchestra are ready to continue their string of psychedelic pop releases with Multi-Love later this spring. Before the album arrives, however, they've revealed a colourful trip of a video for the title track.
In addition to the digitally manipulated rainbow explosion of visuals, the band have also unveiled an interactive app. Director Lionel Williams described the app in a press release, saying:
It is meant to represent the vacuum of space by impressing upon inter-dimensional unfolding, immaterial objects, and time-driven reverberation of events. The virtual space allows for most 3D objects to trail in time — based on the directions one moves. You can construct & paint the objects in space to stretch them in any direction, to create infinitely vast compositional spaces.
You can check it out for yourself on PC, Mac or Unity. Multi-Love is out May 26 via Jagjaguwar, and you can see the clip for the titular tune below.
