When Polish death metal legends Vader returned in 2009 with a revamped line-up and a new album, Necropolis, it marked a turning point for the band. Not only did the stellar Necropolis feature some of their heaviest and most intricate guitar work in years, courtesy of the insanely talented Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka (Decapitated), but also excellent songwriting. For their follow-up and ninth studio album, Welcome to the Morbid Reich, founding vocalist/guitarist Piotr Wiwczarek and company pick up right where they left off. The record is intensely fast and overflowing with pummelling blast beats. "Return to the Morbid Reich" features the band's classic raw death style, while "Come and See My Sacrifice" contains effortless melodic soloing and "I Am Who Feasts Upon Your Soul" is a brutal, hammering attack. Along with Necropolis, Welcome to the Morbid Reich reaffirms Vader as a powerful force in death metal.
