The Lamplighter claims the title of Vancouver's oldest pub, and the bar/venue is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a birthday show.
On March 20, local rockers Black Pontiac will kick off their tour at the venue located on the ground floor of the Dominion Hotel in Vancouver's Gastown neighbourhood. DJ Krisp Kutz will follow Black Pontiac.
Restaurant group Freehouse Collective bought the establishment in 2007. "We [are] proud to be stewards of this important slice of Vancouver's history," said Freehouse's Harrison Stoker. "Now that it's reached this milestone, we look forward to throwing our doors open and welcoming friends for a great celebration."
Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim will be on site for a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 3–5 p.m. Tickets for the show are available here.
