The Vaughan International Film Festival is returning this summer for its 13th edition. Showcasing 17 international short films from nine different countries and 13 student short films, the majority of VFF's programming will take place at the Studios at Assembly Park from June 16 to 18.

The four-day festival will kick off on June 16 with a student screening highlighting the best in high school short films from across Ontario. International screenings will take place on June 17 and 18, and the festival will close off on June 19 with the VFF Awards Show at the Terrace Event Centre to celebrate film nominees and winners as well as the Indie Leader and Trailblazer recipients. The awards show will also feature a headline musical performance.

Two new awards have been announced for the 2025 VFF season, including Best Performance and Best Canadian Film. Best Performance is replacing both former Best Actor and Best Actress categories as VFF embraces a more inclusive approach to recognizing exceptional performances. Best Canadian Film is a new award that reflects VFF's commitment to spotlighting Canadian talent and storytellers both nationally and internationally.

Tickets for the festival, as well as scheduling information, are available now on VFF's website
