Vivian Girls' Katy Goodman 'Sees the Light' on New La Sera Album

When she's not bassin' it up as one third of the Vivian Girls, Katy Goodman's latest endeavor has been the bittersweet pop of La Sera. Less than a year ago, she dropped her self-titled debut, and now she's ready to do it all over again.

The new effort is called Sees the Light, and features ten more break-up songs with titles like "Love That's Gone," "Break My Heart" and "Don't Stay." The album was recorded with Rob Barbato, who has previously worked with Darker My Love and the Fall.

Compared to La Sera, a press release described the album as "more direct, more aggressive; almost a soundtrack to a lost drive-in movie classic," adding that Goodman is demonstrating an "all-consuming love for punk as pop and pop as punk."

Sees the Light will be available on March 27 via Hardly Art. Lead single "Please Be My Third Eye" can be heard here.

Sees the Light:

1. "Love That's Gone"
2. "Please Be My Third Eye"
3. "I Can't Keep You in My Mind"
4. "Break My Heart"
5. "It's Over Now"
6. "I'm Alone"
7. "Real Boy"
8. "Drive On"
9. "How Far We've Come"
10. "Don't Stay"
