Troubled hip-hop star Waka Flocka Flame is back in the headlines after being arrested, jailed and released over the weekend in New York. The rhymer was picked up by the police for marijuana possession in Queens on Saturday (July 23) at the Coliseum Mall, but was released yesterday (July 24).
Though the NYPD confirmed to MTV that they had brought in the rapper for criminal possession of marijuana, it doesn't look as if they will be pressing charges.
For his part, after spending the night in the clink for potentially nothing, Flame is a little bothered by the whole ordeal. Luckily, he made it out of jail in time to hit up a Kansas City area concert.
"I'm finna jump on my flight 2 Kc ....... sorry 2 da whole m town 4 not coming I had spend a nite n jail with no charge #onlybecauseirap," he tweeted, adding "Can't no 1 stop with GOD got planned 4me [know that]."
Though his upcoming Ferrari Boyz project with Gucci Mane will keep him busy for the next little bit, we hope for Waka's sake that the cops don't typecast him once he makes good on his retirement vows.
