While the Saltburn hype may have finally died down, "Murder on the Dancefloor" remains. This isn't a complaint — it's a total banger that deserves to be getting its flowers. You can't help but be happy for Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who's been riding this renaissance wave with grace, making her American TV debut on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show yesterday (February 12).
She was joined by the Roots to play the 2001 track, which currently sits at No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's a very sweet performance, one which radiates Ellis-Bextor's gratitude for the song's revival. Watch it below.
"Murder on the Dancefloor" isn't the only noughties track that got a boost from Saltburn — though its naked dance scene remains the most infamous (unless drinking bath water grosses you out). "Perfect (Exceeder)" by Mason and Princess Superstar is also having a moment in the sun, giving the latter a chance to speak out on its original botched promotion cycle.
