Last year, Eagles of Death Metal revealed plans for a documentary exploring their life after a terrorist attack at the Bataclan Concert Hall in Paris left 89 dead during a performance in November 2015. Now, a trailer for HBO's Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) has surfaced.
The trailer features both performance footage from the evening of the attack and the band's return to the stage, cut in between interviews with Bono, Josh Homme and an emotional Jesse Hughes. You can find it in the player below.
As previously reported, the doc was directed by friend of the band Colin Hanks, who was also in attendance the evening of the attacks. Hanks had previously told Deadline that the film would address the question, "How do you go on with your life with something like that?"
Including interviews with both the band and survivors of the attack, the film will be split into three parts, chronicling who the band are, the details of the attack and the band's ensuing European return tour.
Of course, Hughes came under fire after the incident for his pro-gun comments and allegations that Bataclan security staff may have been in on the attack. While Hanks has also said the film is not political, he clarified that it doesn't avoid the controversy around Hughes's remarks, saying, "We don't walk around it."
Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends) will debut February 13 on HBO. The documentary was financed by concert promotion giant Live Nation and is the first project from their new Live Nation Productions film division.
