Chelsea Wolfe will release new album Birth of Violence come the end of next week, and she's now shared another new song from the effort.

"Deranged for Rock & Roll" is described by Wolfe as her "love song to music," and arrives alongside a video directed by Gilbert Trejo (Pixies, DIIV). In it, Wolfe performs for a small audience in a darkened desert dive, while their paths to venue are simultaneously revealed.

"From the beginning we knew this video took place outside of society," Trejo recalled in a statement. "The melody invokes compulsion, a certain type of purgatory, the inability to just buckle down and fly the straight path. Everyone's purgatory exists side by side, and we affect one another without ever knowing."

Wolfe added, "I belong to music, and it to me. I feel Gilbert's video illustrates that unnamed pull towards something so well. My character is destined to sing the same song over and over in this purgatory of a desert bar, while different people come through the town and begin to feel the pull as well, drawing them into this vortex to stay for good."

Birth of Violence arrives September 13 through Sargent House. Wolfe is set to play Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver on an acoustic tour later this year.
