"Most people already know I've long been an advocate of hip-hop and that's why I wanted be a part of this"

Elton John is no stranger to the world of hip-hop, but he just strengthened those ties tremendously by joining an actual rap battle. Well, sort of.

Via a new Snickers ad, the Rocket Man himself enters the ring in a rap battle at a house party, becoming the personification of IRL rapper Boogie. As you'll see, though, instead of John dropping some vicious bars, he belts out his megahit "Don't Go Breaking My Heart."

If you're familiar with the recent string of Snickers ads, you can likely imagine how it all plays out. But you can actually watch the full ad for yourself down below.

"Most people already know I've long been an advocate of hip-hop and that's why I wanted be a part of this — I got to hang out with Boogie and some great hip-hop talent from the UK too," said John in a statement. "Moreover, I love the direction the new Snickers ads have humorously portrayed being off your game when you're hungry, but in a way that's current and relevant to young people, especially considering hip-hop is one of the biggest music genres in the world today."

Boogie added: "Working with Elton on the set of the new Snickers ad was everything I expected and more — he's generous with his time, funny and fantastically talented! Between him and fresh new hip-hop talent like Femi Nylander, Emarr Kuhomano and Monique Lawz – it was an incredible coming together of multi-talented people."

As John mentioned, his love for hip-hop goes deep. Recently, he became part of a Young Thug remix of "Rocket Man" and let us never forget the time John was caught shopping for Tech N9ne records in Vancouver.
