Watch Future Islands Debut New Song "King of Sweden" on 'Colbert'

The band are touring Canada in May

The defining moment of Future Islands' career thus far (or at least the moment that casual fans can most easily bring to mind) is still their viral 2014 performance of "Seasons (Waiting on You)" on The Late Show with David Letterman.

And while it's unlikely that the band is ever going to recreate the particular zeitgeist-capturing magic of that performance — impossible, really, given that part of its popularity was due to how out-of-nowhere it felt — the band is still more than capable of putting on an energetic, singular late-night TV performance.

Last night they did just that, performing a brand new track called "King of Sweden" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

As to be expected, frontman Samuel T. Herring gives it his all, grooving, kicking and throwing himself across the stage. The new song comes just before the band is set to head out on an international tour, with 11 stops scheduled for Canada in May.
