Still months away from delivering new album 72 Seasons, Metallica have unloaded another new song from the effort.

"Screaming Suicide," a co-write between frontman James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo, follows the previously shared "Lux Æterna," and you can hear it below alongside a video helmed by Tim Saccenti.

"'Screaming Suicide' addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside," Hetfield explains in a press release. "It's ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it's a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone."

As previously reported, 72 Seasons arrives April 14 via Metallica's own Blackened Recordings, and follows 2016's Hardwired... To Self Destruct.

The band have also planned a world tour behind the effort, with shows in Montreal set for 2023 ahead of stops in Edmonton in 2024.

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts, you can access information about 24-hour crisis centres across Canada via the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention.
