The Weather Station released the searching, heartbreaking Ignorance — Exclaim!'s second-favourite album of 2021 — only last year. But Tamara Lindeman has already announced its follow-up and companion album, the piano-based How Is It That I Should Look at the Stars. And last night (February 3), she made another big move, performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in her late-night television debut.
Rather than play new single "Endless Time," Lindeman and her band brought "Tried to Tell You," the propulsive Ignorance highlight. Lindeman gave a stirring, committed performance that began on the floor, decked out in a velvety dark green Matrix duster and looking every bit a rock star and troubadour. The band played a slightly tighter and more stripped-back version of "Tried to Tell You," and they sounded great. Check out the performance below.
How Is It That I Should Look at the Stars arrive March 4 on Next Door Records.
