While the crowed loved Jonas Bonnetta's prolonged songs with their predictable, though solidly delivered, melodies and harmonies, structurally, too many Evening Hymns songs relied on similar and overtly loud trumpet climaxes. It was pretty, but also pretty boring. If Bonnetta can learn how to work a substantial melody through his occasionally inspired chord structures, Evening Hymns could be onto something.
