Sure, live albums are generally contractual filler, but they can be pretty awesome, classic even. So we're excited as can be to announce that Canada's finest indie rockers the Weakerthans have announced a release date for an upcoming live album.
The CD/DVD will be called Live at the Burton Cummings Theatre and is set to be released on Epitaph Records on March 23. No word on a tracklisting or what will be on the DVD, but stay tuned for that info as soon as we receive it.
In other Weakernews, the guys are currently holed up in a cabin in Falcon Lake, MB, recording with Jim Bryson as the backing band for his solo album. Bryson played with the Weakerthans on their recent Reunion Tour tour.
The Weakerthans' last album was Reunion Tour, which was released in 2007. They released the digital-only iTunes Sessions live-in-the-studio EP last year.
