Toronto indie rock outfit Weaves are on the rise. After the release of their hypnotic single "Take a Dip" last September, the band have spent their time playing shows around the country and preparing for their forthcoming self-titled debut EP, which drops on April 1 through Buzz Records.

Leading up to their landmark release, the band played a set as part of Toronto's Wavelength festival, which Exclaim! just so happened to catch on tape for the newest edition of Exclaim! TV.

As the band stood on the dark stage of Adelaide Hall as psychedelic images projected across them, fans might have noticed something odd about this performance: the band lacked a drummer. Even so, the crew pressed on, not letting a little thing like a missing member bring them down.

Employing a drum machine's surgical precision to fill in the beats, the three-piece performed their minimalist musical expedition "Crumble," with the bass keeping the rhythm under guitarist Morgan Waters' groovy experimentation and singer Jasmyn Burke's sweet vocals providing the icing on the proverbial cake.
