If it feels like Clairo shade, it's also "Weird Al" Yankovic shade now. If you thought the singer-songwriter had an uncanny resemblance to Sally from Cars, she shares an unmistakable likeness with the acclaimed parodist in the new music video for "Terrapin" (from last year's Charm, one of the best albums of 2024) directed by The Bear's Ayo Edebiri.
Complete with title credits that indicate that Yankovic is, in fact, starring as "Clairo" in the video, it sees him passionately lip-syncing the song with retro, sentimental edits — and, eventually, backup dancers and a band that features the actual Clairo.
Who knows how any of this came together, but it feels special and silly that it did! Edebiri, who herself recently starred in a Tyler, the Creator music video, and Clairo have notably done karaoke together at least once. Check out the "Terrapin" video below.
