Not only is Jordan Minkoff a member of Bankrobber and Slam Dunk — and a former participant in Immaculate Machine — he also has an organ-centric side-project called Wetface. It's under this name that he just rolled out a new video for "First Impression."
This song is a predominantly instrumental disco jam in which an exotic organ line twinkles brightly atop a steady thump. It gets a little stranger and more in-your-face in the middle section before the main riff returns for the final passage, this time with some spoken word croaks and hoots in the background. The accompanying video shows crude white scribbles forming abstract images against a black backdrop, with a few splashes of colour spicing it up occasionally. It was animated by Minkoff himself.
The musician said in a statement to Exclaim!, "My only album A Lifetime of Flawless Music comes out in 20 years and will have 100 songs on it." We'll believe it when we see it. In the meantime, check out "First Impression" below.
