White Denim Tap Jeff Tweedy for 'Corsicana Lemonade'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 7, 2013

Garage-rocking Texans White Denim toured with Wilco last year, and they got a little help from the alt-country act's frontman Jeff Tweedy when creating their latest full-length. Corsicana Lemonade is out on October 29 through Downtown Records/MapleMusic Recordings.

Tweedy and his studio partner Tom Schick produced two of the tracks, with recording taking place at Wilco's Chicago studio, the Loft. The remaining songs were recorded at a home studio in Austin with Jim Vollentine, and Tweedy mixed the entire album.

The results reportedly capture the atmosphere of the band's energetic live performances. Singer James Petralli said in a statement, "It's taken five records to make one that sounds the way we do onstage."

He continued, "We wheeled in a bunch of crazy '50s gear and played from noon until 2 a.m. every day until the album was done. We played live together, doing takes as a whole. Whatever sounded best was what we stuck with."
