Husband-and-wife roots ensemble Whitehorse's recent gig in Vancouver was slightly hindered by the fact that guitarist Luke Doucet was "wicked sick," but hopefully he and vocalist Melissa McClelland are all rested up and ready to go for their upcoming tour, which cuts across the Prairies and Western Canada next month.
A press release points to Whitehorse playing a couple of shows at this year's SXSW festival in Austin, but they will spend much of April travelling around Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. You can catch the details of the trip, which starts in Grand Prairie, AB on April 11, heads out as far as Winnipeg and boomerangs back to Alberta for a tour capper in Red Deer, down below.
Whitehorse will no doubt tackle a number of tunes from last year's self-titled debut, but shows are said to feature reworkings from Doucet and McClelland's respective back catalogues.
