The Who recently postponed their North American fall tour due to singer Roger Daltrey coming down with meningitis. Thankfully, the veteran rockers will be bouncing back in the new year, and they have now made good on their promise to reschedule the shows.
The outing now runs from late February until late May. This trip is a little longer than the one they had previously booked, since a few extra U.S. shows have been added.
As expected, all of the postponed Canadian stops are accounted for in the new itinerary, as the Who have set new dates in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, plus two nights in Toronto. See the full schedule — with both the postponed and rescheduled dates — below. Tickets for the postponed shows will be honoured at the new dates.
There's no word as to who will open up at these rescheduled dates; previously booked opener Joan Jett's name is conspicuously missing from the new tour poster (above).
Daltrey said in a statement, "I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better."
Guitarist Pete Townshend added, "We will be starting our rescheduled shows in March and will be coming back stronger than ever!" So long as nobody smokes weed, that is.
One of the Toronto gigs had already been rescheduled in order to give Daltrey some vocal rest.
