Wildbirds & Peacedrums Announce North American Dates

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 8, 2011

Swedish experimental pop duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums are coming back our way this spring. You may have caught the pair opening for St. Vincent last year. If you saw them, you know you need to see the somewhat jazzy, sometimes steel-drum-driven outsider outfit again. If you didn't catch them last time, now is your chance.

The group will be heading out for North America at the end of May, kicking off the trip with a gig at Toronto's Drake Hotel. The quick jaunt will also see them treating Canadian crowds in Montreal and Vancouver to their unique tunes. Check out the full tour schedule, which also includes several U.S. dates, below.

While Wildbirds & Peacedrums haven't announced a new record, the pair are still touring behind their awesome Rivers collection, which combined their 2010 EP's Retina and Iris onto one platter.

As you might remember, the band will also be taking part in the Congotronics vs. Rockers tour in Europe this summer with Deerhoof and Konono N°1, among others.
