Last month, the Wilderness of Manitoba announced plans to release Island of Echoes on September 18 through Pheromone Recordings. Now, the Toronto folk band have unveiled a track from that album with "Morning Sun."
The shimmering song is anchored by shakers, a mellow drum beat, and echoing guitar drones. The emphasis here is on the vocal harmonies, which are lush and sound halfway between Laurel Canyon-style folk and a full-blown choir. The momentum eventually builds and the track culminates with some quick-fingered guitar leads.
