After nearly a year-long hiatus, Montreal alt-ish rockers Wolf Parade are back together to for a quick rubdown of eastern Canadian cities in April before heading off to Europe in May. They'll be joined by fellow Montreal canines We Are Wolves.
The band haven't been shut up or dreaming this past year, though: co-vocalists Spencer Krug and Dan Boeckner have both spent much of the last few months making bigger names for themselves through Sunset Rubdown and Handsome Furs, respectively.
For Wolf Parade, they will make an April Fool's appearance in Quebec City before a quick jaunt to the Maritimes, including a one-night stand at a farmers' market in Fredericton, NB. They'll also play in Kingston, ON and Toronto, ON.
A Wolf Parade fansite has reported that the mini-tour will serve to promote the band's third LP, supposedly to be released this spring, following up 2008's At Mount Zoomer.
Today (January 26) was also the official hard-copy release date for Krug side-project Moonface's Dreamland EP: Marimba and Shit-Drums. The digital version of the album was released in December with a Radiohead-esque pay-as-you-please format.
Tickets for the Wolf Parade tour go on sale Thursday (January 28).
Tour dates:
4/1 Quebec City, QC - Imperial de Quebec
4/3 Halifax, NS - Paragon Theatre
4/4 Fredericton, NB - The Boyce Farmers' Market
4/6 Kingston, ON - The Ale House
4/7 Toronto, ON - Phoenix Concert Theatre
