Women have greatly benefited from their relationship with Chad VanGaalen; as his star has risen, so has that of the Calgary quartet due to regular opening slots with the Polaris Prize nominee. That relationship extends to VanGaalen assisting the band live, toiling away on a synth in the background. While their Thursday night set proved they were far from simply riding VanGaalen's coattails it was frustrating to see a band that so many had clearly come out to watch look so bored. A little more enthusiasm could have really won them over to an audience ready to believe.
