Woods to Head Out on West Coast Tour, Play Vancouver

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 29, 2010

Brooklyn, NY-based freak folks Woods have a new album coming out on Tuesday (May 4) via singer Jeremy Earl's Woodsist label. The disc is called At Echo Lake, and it promises to offer more of the same ramshackle psychedelia and warbly, Neil Young-inspired folk as the band's previous offering, last year's Songs of Shame.

To promote the release, Woods will be heading out on the road in June for a brief West coast tour. This includes one Canadian date at Vancouver's Media Club.

They will be touring with Woodsist label-mates the Art Museums and self-proclaimed "stanky blues" band the Mantles. The band will also be playing at the Woodsist Festival in Los Angeles and Big Sur with Real Estate and Kurt Vile.

For a preview of the At Echo Lake tracks "Suffering Season" and "I Was Gone," head over to Woods' MySpace.
