Wormrot

Abuse

It's no secret that Earache Records isn't the label it once was. So, it's with a been-building-for-a-decade sigh of relief that they put out this amazing, raw grind album. This Singapore-based trio, which sound like what a band named Wormrot sound should like, will hopefully see their profile raised significantly amongst those who love horrible songs that last no longer than 60 seconds with this reissue of their debut disc, which originally came out last year on Scrotum Jus Records. And, watch out, bass: here's another extreme band proving ― somehow ― that they can provide an insane amount of low end without anyone on the four-string. As for the songs, it matters not when one ends and the next begins; it's more like a 21-minute orgy of old Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Brutal Truth and forgotten bands that have split seven-inches with other forgotten bands collecting dust in your closet. This disc is forgettable, but simultaneously amazing (check the great drumming on "Scum Infestation and Last Song" and revel in the glory of a grind Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover), and a perfect representation of what grindcore should sound like. Fuck yeah, Earache!
