Yeah Yeah Yeahs Spill the Beans About It's Blitz!

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Feb 12, 2009

Get psyched Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans - the band's new record is a go. Word's come from YYY camp that the New York trio's third album is heading our way April 14 via Interscope, bearing the title It's Blitz! and perhaps the best album cover we've seen this year so far (see above).

Yeah Yeah Yeahs laid this one down with long-time producer David Sitek, the TV on the Radio man who also worked on the YYYs last two albums, along with Nick Launay, who co-produced the 2007 Is Is EP. The band also began writing this record "in the middle of a snowstorm, in a 100-year-old barn in rural Massachusetts," the press release says, so make of that what you will.

There are a few guest stars on It's Blitz!, such as TVOTR's Tunde Adebimpe adding some vocals to one track and Kyp Malone rocking out on the tambourine for a song, as well as Antibalas saxophonist Stuart Bogie and YYY's part-time touring member Imaad Wasif.

The album's first single will be for the track "Zero," which will precede the album on April 6.

No word of a It's Blitz! tour yet, but here's the tracklisting:

1. "Zero"
2. "Heads Will Roll"
3. "Soft Shock"
4. "Skeletons"
5. "Dull Life"
6. "Shame and Fortune"
7. "Runaway"
8. "Dragon Queen"
9. "Hysteric"
10. "Little Shadow"
