Young Galaxy Unveil New 7-Inch, Set Sights on Next Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 1, 2012

In 2011, Montreal's Young Galaxy reinvented themselves with Shapeshifting, which gave the band an icy electro makeover courtesy of producer Dan Lissvik. Now, the band are preparing to follow up that LP with a new seven-inch and a subsequent full-length.

The seven-inch includes two new songs: "Shoreless Kid" and "Youth Is Wasted on the Young." The single, which will also be available digitally, is limited to 300 vinyl copies worldwide; of these, 75 are available directly through Paper Bag Records. It officially comes out on Tuesday (June 5), and you can pre-order a copy right here .

According to the product description, these two tunes are intended to "tide you over till their forthcoming LP." There's no word as to exactly when that's coming, or whether it will include the new songs.

In the meantime, you can stream both tracks below.

UPDATE: According to Paper Bag, these tracks will not be on Young Galaxy's upcoming album, which they are currently recording in Sweden with ex-Studio member/Shapeshifting producer Dan Lissvik.
