Whether with concert tickets or offstage experiences alongside their favourite musicians, AIR MILES has long helped take Canadians' love of music to new heights through bringing listeners across the country closer to the artists they love. Apart from access to reserved seats and exclusive contests through the AIR MILES Stage Pass program, the company's With the Band contests take fans beyond the average meet-and-greet to more memorable experiences, including sound check, snowshoeing, private performances and more.
When the world's summer concert plans were upended by COVID-19, AIR MILES was quick to adapt to the digital performance space with the launch of Happy Every Day. Built to engage, excite and entertain Canadians staying home to flatten the curve, the online community featured digital performances and appearances from famous friends of Canada's most recognized loyalty program, including musical icon Buffy Sainte-Marie and celebrated songwriters Brett Kissel, Cœur de pirate, the Reklaws and Rufus Wainwright.
While Happy Every Day will come to a close on July 1, the day also marks the first-ever Canada Day House Party, presented by AIR MILES. Fans across the country are invited to celebrate Canada Day 2020 with games, giveaways, food and drink recipes from Chef Dev and the Clever Barkeep, contests and much more on the interactive six-hour event, portions of which will be broadcast live from Paris, ON.
Presented by AIR MILES and benefitting the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), the virtual Canada Day House Party kicks off July 1 at 3 p.m. ET, and features an impressive musical lineup of beloved favourites and rising stars alike from across the country.
Artists set to raise the roof include Sam Roberts Band, Cadence Weapon x Skratch Bastid, Dean Brody, Dear Rouge, the Tragically Hip's Gord Sinclair, Riit, Caveboy, Myles Castello, William Prince, LOONY, the Trews, STORRY, Garçons, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Kelly Prescott and Logan Staats.
UPDATE (6/30, 1:30 p.m. EDT): DVSN have been added to the schedule. They're slated to go on last, at 9:15 p.m.
"AIR MILES has a rich history in live music, using our platform to connect our Collectors to the bands, musicians and artists they love through one-of-a-kind experiences, unforgettable concerts and can't-miss artist interactions," AIR MILES president Blair Cameron said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be presenting the first-ever Canada Day House Party and help reward music fans across the country with an experience that brings a roster of performers rich in talent, diversity and Canadian pride into their homes."
Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP Care Package from Roots Canada in support of the CMHA up to and on July 1. Each comes with a limited edition Roots x CDHP branded T-shirt as well as a $10 donation to the CMHA.
Donations will support mental health programs and services in local communities across Canada. "As we stay home on July 1, the Canada Day House Party will bring us together to remind us that we are all here to support each other and that we belong," CMHA CEO Margaret Eaton said. "We could all use a little more joy and togetherness!"
Join in Canada Day House Party on July 1 from 3 p.m. ET to 9 p.m. ET. Complete event streaming and scheduling information can be found through Canada Day House Party's official website with further updates available through Instagram and Facebook.
