Yuck Announce New Single and North American Dates

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 10, 2011

If you already thought it's been a busy year for '90s-inspired rockers Yuck, you will notice that between an upcoming seven-inch and some newly announced tour dates, it's about to get a lot busier for the young UK act.

Earlier this year, the group released their fuzzed-out self-titled debut, which referenced Dinosaur Jr. and the Lemonheads, among others. Then there was their tour with Australia's Tame Impala, which had them hitting up some Canadian cities for the first time. Somewhere in between, Yuck leader Daniel Blumberg found time to record a solo set as Oupa. Next up for the busybodies is a two-song single.

A press release explains that the band are continuing their steady stream of releases with a self-released, double A-side venture. While one side of the platter contains Yuck album track "Shook Down," a new tune called "Milkshake" is featured on the flip. You can hear that blissfully gritty pop number below.

As if the band weren't busy enough, a summer tour brings Yuck back to North America this July. If you missed their Vancouver show at the Commodore last month, you will be able to redeem yourself at the Biltmore Cabaret on July 23. Yuck will be travelling with Fat Possum labelmates Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Check out the rest of the dates below.
