Lady Gaga is arguably the most popular singer in the world right now, so just about any artist would be dying to work with her, right? Wrong. She reportedly asked Die Antwoord to tour with her and, according to the South African shock rappers, they unceremoniously rejected her.
In an interview with MTV News Canada, band member Ninja said, "Weird shit's been happening, like fucking Lady Gaga asked us to tour with her and we're like, 'No, don't worry about it.'"
He stammered a lot and was slightly incoherent, but went on to explain that Die Antwoord operate in "another dimension" from Lady Gaga. He said, "We like making pop music and hardcore music at the same time, mixing the two. But it's got soul in it, and then it's got a lot of layers. It's powerful. It's not like weak, superficial shit."
