Bionic

Blasting away with as many Southern-inspired riffs as any other band playing this weekend, Montreal’s Bionic kicked out some impressive, huge-sounding metal jams. This well attended showcase clearly drew most of the more aggressively inclined Pop Montreal clientele from a weekend that focused mainly on the poppier side of the independent rock coin. Crushingly heavy despite only playing through three quarters of their amps for over half their set, Bionic’s newest material was their most exciting, demonstrating strong musicianship and an exciting musical range that drew from across genres.
