We don't talk enough about how big of a sports fan Céline Dion is. I mean, of course she made her moving return to the stage at the Paris Olympics — that wasn't at all about performing with French icon Édith Piaf or having every set of eyes in the world on Dion after her stiff-person syndrome symptoms have prevented her from singing live in recent years; it was about empowering the athletes to push the human body beyond all conceivable limits!
The legendary Charlemagne-born singer is continuing to show her passion for all things athletic, appearing in a promotional clip for Sunday Night Football on NBC last night (October 6). Apparently there's been a rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers for decades, and Dion offered some pre-recorded words of wisdom about the singular alchemy of football before the two teams went up against each other (spoiler alert: the Cowboys won).
"I think my favourite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were," the artist says in the ad, wearing a Super Bowl XXX crewneck sweatshirt. "To prove that our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves, can stay with us forever. You know what I'm talking about, right? Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back."
Then, as you can imagine, "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" plays — and Dion gets drenched in yellow Gatorade, because she's a winner. Watch the clip below.
