Chat Pile Extend North American Tour Behind Sophomore Album 'Cool World'

They've added Canadian shows in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton

As previously confirmed, enigmatic hardcore innovators on the rise Chat Pile have completed their sophomore album — and are now officially set to release it this fall. Today, they preview the LP with opening track "I Am Dog Now," sharing alongside the news a run of select North American tour dates, including Canadian gigs in Toronto and Montreal.

UPDATE (9/24, 12:38 p.m. ET): Chat Pile have now  extended their North American tour itinerary into early 2025, with new Canadian dates in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton scheduled for February. Tickets go on sale Friday (September 27) at 10 a.m. local, and you can see the updated itinerary in bold below.

Cool World arrives October 11 through The Flenser. It follows the Oklahoma City band's watermark debut, God's Country — one of Exclaim!'s Best Albums of 2022.

"Cool World covers similar themes to our last album, except now exploded from a micro to macro scale, with thoughts specifically about disasters abroad, at home, and how they affect one another," vocalist Raygun Busch explained in a release. "If I had to describe the album in one sentence, it's hard not to borrow from Voltaire, so I won't resist — Cool World is about the price at which we eat sugar in America."

Opening track "I Am Dog Now" arrives alongside a Will Mecca-directed music video, which you can check out below. There, you'll also find the album tracklist and the band's fall tour itinerary — including Canadian concerts at the Concert Hall in Toronto (November 11) and Montreal's Fairmount Theatre (November 12) — with support from the likes of Agriculture and Porcelain at select shows. Tickets go on sale Friday (July 19) at 10 a.m. local.
