Earlier this year, Captured Tracks and Flying Nun Records teamed up for a reissue campaign, and now we've got news of some more classic New Zealand pop that will receive a fresh release. The Clean's 1990 album Vehicle and the Bird Nest Roys' compilation Me Want Me Get Me Need Me Have Me Love will both be out on June 25.
Vehicle was the Clean's first proper album, although it was released almost a decade after their single "Tally Ho!" brought Flying Nun to relative prominence. The group disbanded during the '80s, and Vehicle came together after they reunited. Pitchfork notes that Vehicle comes with a bonus live album, In-A-Live, which dates back to the same era.
As for the Bird Nest Roys, they existed briefly in the mid-'80s. The band issued a self-titled album in 1987, plus a small handful of short-form releases. Me Want Me Get Me Need Me Have Me Love brings together their entire discography, along with unreleased live recordings and goodies like posters and flyers.
Both albums will be available on double-vinyl, CD and as a digital download.
