Next week, on August 14, Alberta scene staple Corb Lund will release his latest album, Cabin Fever, via New West Records. Ahead of its official street date, you can stream the entire collection at Exclaim.ca.
Like the title suggests, Cabin Fever was largely written in a remote cabin outside of Edmonton. Taking inspiration from unfortunate life events, including the death of his uncle and a recent breakup, Lund and his band the Hurtin' Albertans cut songs that were "loose and live, with almost no overdubs."
Subject matter covered on the album includes motorcycles, the apocalypse, alcohol and heartbreak. As for the musical arrangements, they touch on everything from country rock to rockabilly, balladry, swing and yodelling.
